BOL (2011)

This movie has many theories\ ideologies but the one that i think is influencing minds is the one about transgenders. Bol highlights the bitter realities of our society where showing the ugly side of gender based discrimination and violence. Transgenders are considered as non-humans and as bad omens. It portray's a story of a young boy who is born a transgender and suffers through identity crisis and his father does not accept him. Now when the head of the family does not protect you, you can fall into wrong hands. The same is with transgenders throughout the country. They are harassed in broad daylight, they are the victims of sexual violence. They are victim to rape and no-one cares when they file a complaint but if they do file a complaint , the incident is suppressed and they are silenced. No matter how badly a transgender might want to get better in life, get ahead in life, work hard to earn the life that he wants he/she will not get the same respect as compared to an individual female or male. The movie also shows the prevalent yield of honor killing where the father considers his son to better be dead rather than live as a transgender. 

SECRET SUPERSTAR (2017)

In this movie, the ideology of double standards between a boy and a girl is portrayed. The father does not treat  the mother properly. He hits her on her smallest mistakes and does not pay a heed to anything his daughter has to say. All he cares is about his son, the father will bring him sweets, new clothes, take him out but if the daughter asks for something the father ignores her. The mother bought a laptop for her daughter by selling the necklace that the father gave to her. When the father got to know about this he thrashed his wife very badly and he even asked his daughter to throw the laptop off the roof. He even plans a trip to some other country so that his daughter will marry his friend's son. Gender discrimination is a major issue in this country till date!

12 Years A Slave(2013)

The ideology of racism is portrayed in this movie. A guy looking for a job, leaves his family back in his homeland and comes searching for a job in America. He plays a violin and one day he is going to a concert when certain people kidnap him. They put him in camps that are hidden from the world. The people pick him up just because of his color. and just because he is black. They call them slaves and for 12 years they work relentlessly. Working in fields, getting thrashed e.t.c. For 12 years these African Americans are cut off from the outer world just because of their color. When he returns after 12 years, his wife has grown old, children married with kids. Just because of his facial color he lost 12 precious years of his lives!! People are only discriminated because of their color by people all around the globe because they have so much hatred filled in their hearts by the governments' against the people who are black. They are thought as thieves, robbers, drug addicts just because of their SKIN COLOR!!
